OH MY GOD. it’s been, like, 20+ degrees this week in manitoba and i am SUPER excited about it. of course, with the rising temperatures comes a slew of new beauty products. here are the products that i rely on in the summertime:

jergens natural glow daily moisturizer: i’m not a big fan of a tan from a bottle, i prefer to get my color the hanging out at the beach or in my awesome back yard (i know, i know, UV rays, skin cancer, etc… don’t worry, i use SPF 81274). but during the first few weeks of summer, when my skin is so white it’s practically glowing, i rely pretty heavily on this product to get me through until i am no longer …blinding. it’s a gradual build, and it’s very hard to apply wrong so you don’t need to worry about streaks or patches! and it doesn’t smell terrible, which is nice!

coppertone oil free sunscreen lotion: it’s my favourite because it’s oil free - let’s be real, no one needs any extra shine on their face during the summer, am i right?

aveeno active naturals skin relief moisturizing lotion: SUCH a life saver. i burn super easily, and this is the only way that i’m able to, like, wear clothes or get in bed without bursting into flames. i found it two summers ago when i was at a resort with my family, and i burned super badly after spending a day on the boat (despite the layers upon layers of SPF 60 i was wearing). i ran to the nearest Target to search desperately for Aloe. they were out, but i picked this up instead. it has an awesome cooling action, so it soothes your skin imminently, while moisturizing and hydrating your skin for long-term relief and repair. seriously. if you don’t own this, go buy it. like 20 minutes ago.

physicians formula mineral wear talc-free correcting power: in the summertime, my foundation routine goes down to the minimum. i don’t like to wear a primer, but i have a teensy bit of hyper-pigmentation, so i prefer to. this is super light and corrects the discoloration in my skin like a dream.

NYC sun n’ bronze bronzing powder: i’m not a huge bronzer/blush/face person, but this is a recent discovery that i love. it’s got a nice color to it, the perfect amount of shimmer, and it gives this flawless, sunny glow without being overbearing. definitely worth the $4 ;)

chapstick SPF 30: this is super basic, but definitely necessary. there is nothing worse that sunburned lips, my god.
aaaaaaand that’s it. this is what keeps my summertime beauty regiment in check. what are your favourite sunshine-weather products? :)
what whaaat!

you guys are awesome, thanks so much! :)
Wednesday Apr 4 @ 02:50pmit is finally starting to warm up where i live (+3 on friday, what whaaat!), and in celebration, i have broken out my entire spring wardrobe, and i’ve starting spring-ifying my daily makeup.
if you know me at all, or even if you just follow me on instagram, you know that i’m obsessed with lip products. such a great way to bring a little color or fun into a look! so with that, i thought i’d do a post all about my top 10 lip colors for spring. it’s a mix of drugstore and high end makeup, and a variety of colors, so there’s something for everyone! we’ll start with the glosses, and then get into lipsticks/liners.

Pose is a cute little iPhone app that’s kind of like instagram, but just for fashion/OOTD photos and that kind of stuff. it’s really cool! :)
Tuesday Mar 3 @ 11:36pmlet’s follow each other!

urban decay’s 24/7 liquid eyeliner in perversion is the greatest thing i have ever put on my eyelids and i am in love with it. i want to marry it and have a wonderful life on the beach with it.
too far? i don’t even care
Monday Mar 3 @ 03:39pmso, turns out that an eye primer was exactly what i needed to make that revlon photo ready quad work! it’s a great product but i must say, i like their colorstay line better.
Monday Feb 2 @ 01:38ami recently purchased a few makeup items and had some thoughts on them. so i thought i’d write them down :)
revlon colorstay ultimate suede lipstick
i got this in the color 090 private viewing. what i was looking for was a barely-there, nude color with a little shimmer. i was expecting the formula to be soft, and somewhat moisturizing, just from what i’d already heard about the product. upon first application, i was pretty disappointed - the product got all sticky and awkward after a few minutes, and the colour was a little more brown than i wanted. but after a few more tries, this product has really grown on me. it’s got a really nice shimmer and pigmentation, the lasting power is fabulous and when used on top of a lip balm, it’s not sticky at all - the texture is actually really nice, and the formula is super light-feeling, so you don’t feel like you’re wearing anything on your lips at all. i am definitely going to have to try this out in a few more shades!
revlon photoready primer, shadow + sparkle
i got this little palette in bohemian, which is the one with the blue lid colour, and brown crease shade. i’ve generally stayed away from the photoready line because i’m not really partial to that much glitter in my makeup, but makeupbyalli on youtube loved this little quad (is it a quad? does it qualify as a palette…? i don’t even know), so i thought i’d give it a shot. i’ve worn it twice now and i have to say, i’m fairly disappointed. which isn’t normal, as i generally love revlon products, particularly eye products. i don’t really understand how a powder primer works… but i’m going to assume it doesn’t, haha. all of the shadows apply super nicely and smooth, and the pigmentation is superb. but after a few hours, i find that the blue just fades to an awkward grey and it throws off the whole look.
to be fair, i haven’t tried this with an actual primer, like UD primer potion or anything, so i might have to post an update after i do that. i really do want to like this product, though, so if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know!
almay smart shade perfect & correct primer
i was super desperate for a primer, and as i don’t have a sephora or mac in my town, the drugstore was pretty much my only option, unless i wanted to spend $50 on a smashbox primer.
anyway. i love this primer. it comes in a green and purple formula; the green helps to correct your skintone, while the purple brightens your complexion. it really does just that, plus it makes your foundation go on like a dream, and it lasts all day. what else are you really looking for from a primer, right? overall it’s a great product. 10/10. would recommend.
covergirl lipperfection jumbo gloss balm
i purchased the 215 …watermelon something shade. i can’t find the name of it right now but i know it’s watermelon something, haha!
i typically stay away from covergirl products as everything i’ve tried turns into a hot ass mess, but i figured a lipgloss would he harmless, plus i really love the color. it’s a sheer gloss, with a pop of bight pink. it’s perfect for spring, and i’m really excited to wear it all summer.
rimmel london lasting finish by Kate lipstick
i bought this in 90, which is like a coraly-pinky shade, and 04, which is a deep, dark purple shade. the formula is fabulous - it’s super moisturizing, and goes on like a dream. the purple obviously isn’t a super wearable color for day time, but i do really like it for a more dramatic look, with a basic eye and simple blush, you know? the coral-pinky color, however, is wonderful and i wear it all the time.
anyyyyyway. that’s my tiny little makeup haul/review/first impressions blog. hope you liked it, and seriously, if anyone has any tips for that revlon shadow, i’d appreciate it!
Wednesday Feb 2 @ 10:12pmi seriously can’t believe people still follow me on here.
anyway. i’m going to try to post here more often.
let’s see if i follow through.
thanks to everyone who didn’t click the ‘unfollow’ button :)

aside from doing fabulous makeup (ahahaha…) i also wear clothing. this is what i wore today.
